Journalism

While I have written and edited my fair share of pieces for NRLCEO and Byte Magazine, my larger body of journalism work comes from several other projects I have worked on over the years.

Six Months Later Gaming

Running from July 2015 to December 2017, Six Months Later Gaming was a site I created to review games six months after hitting shelves. In an industry that is more reliant on fixing games through post-release patches than ever, there isn’t enough coverage updating fans when game-breaking bugs have been fixed or additional content has been added.

Through Six Months Later Gaming, I was able to network with developers and publishers to receive review copies of games, obtain press passes to cover gaming conventions, and interview some awesome people within the industry.

The jewel in the crown was having my work seen by 250,000 people after being retweeted by the one and only Hideo Kojima.

Wrestling Coverage

In 2009 I began writing articles covering the weird and wacky world of sports entertainment over on Bleacher Report. Whether it was trawling through the history books, educating the primarily American fanbase about Aussie wrestling, or highlighting lesser known wrestlers on the indie circuit, it lead to over 75 articles on the topic.

From there I was headhunted to join a small team on the rapidly growing site The Wrestling Daily. It was a short-lived site, lasting less than two years, but it speaks to the high caliber of talent involved when several writers moved on to the prestigious publication Pro Wrestling Illustrated.

My highlight of this period was writing a breaking news article that reached over 10,000 readers within 24 hours on an independent site before social media was what it is today. I am also to this day cited as a news source on a pro wrestler’s Wikipedia page, so you could say I’m famous.
